Abstract: In the current complex external environment with booming global digital economy, whether enterprises can fully utilize digital technology to enhance their organizational resilience and breakthrough new growth momentum has become a crucial practical issue. Based on a sample of Chinese manufacturing listed companies from 2014 to 2022, this paper examines the impact of digital technology application on enterprise organizational resilience from the perspective of ambidextrous innovation theory. The results show that: digital technology application has significant promoting effects on both stability and flexibility dimensions of organizational resilience, which remains robust after a series of robustness tests; ambidextrous innovation plays a mediating role between digital technology application and organizational resilience, with exploitative innovation promoting organizational stability and exploratory innovation enhancing organizational flexibility; from the perspective of enterprise life cycle, the promoting effect of exploitative innovation on organizational stability is more significant in mature enterprises, while the promoting effect of exploratory innovation on organizational flexibility is more prominent in growing enterprises. This study clarifies the relationship between digital technology application and enterprise organizational resilience, enriches the research on organizational resilience and enterprise life cycle theory, and provides empirical evidence and managerial implications for manufacturing enterprises to enhance organizational resilience through digital technology.
